Docs find tests testing

Many junior doctors do not understand basic laboratory tests, according to a survey by the Association of Clinical Biochemistry.

spoons_medicines_small.jpgThey found that out of the 80 doctors questionned almost a fifth would order tests they were not confident in interpreting. Many did not feel confident in laboratory test such as magnesium, phosphate, parathyroid hormone, urine sodium and osmolality and the short Synacthen test.
